Hey everyone, the thread is only called test because the site wasn't letting me post for some reason. So if someone could, they can change the name of the thread.
I picked up a 2010 Mazda 3 Sport GT w/ the 6speed and a moonroof. I traded my 2002 Eclipse GT against it. I signed up to the site a while ago, when I was looking at a 2004 Mazda 3 Sport GT when they first came out. But due to a bad dealer experience, I went with an Eclipse at the time. I know I am not from Toronto, but this site is great as it was the first Mazda 3 Forum I came across. I actualy live in Fredericton, NB.
Here are a couple quick pics.
The smile grill and the 2.5l engine

The dual exhaust:

I will have some better pics later on.
Future plans, hunt down the integrated Sirius satellite radio kit, and an Intake.
A couple of the features I found useful and liked:
-Controls to level your head lights from inside the car
-The display screen, even know it is a different color from the rest of the dash lighting (pic to come)
-The ability to lower the drivers seat (this is pretty common nowadays but I am 6 foot 3, so it's important to me)
-The dual exhaust gives the ass (which is my favorite angle on the 3) an even better look.
-The release button for the hatch lid.
-The fact it doesn't have uber wheel gap stock like the Eclipse did (still had plenty even after being lowered).
-A decent rim pattern
-And my favorite of all time is the telescopic steering wheel. Don't know why but I like it.
So far my review of the car is completely positive. Lots of head room and leg room (don't need the drivers seat slid all the way back). The dash is nice in the day time, really nice at night. It looks busy, but it works.
Congrats man, let me be the first to tell you that I like the new 3s. There are some haters here of the new 3s "smile" but I think you got yourself a great looking and great overall car.

Welcome to the forum. Good buy. Enjoy and hope to see you at a meet.
We are going to have a few people meet this weekend at Speed Sport if you want to make a trip down. Maybe this will help Biped come down too.

Congrats on the new ride! That car looks great to me, I'd love to see it in person sometime. Are you planning to attend SpeedSport? If not, I've got family in Freddy so I'm there once in a while...
Anyways, welcome! And you chose the best colour, well done :D

Oh, and the obligatory CustomObsessions first post: "Looks awesome, now lower it!"
hahaha

Won't be making it to speed sport this year. So I won't be able to help get Biped there.
cbusby, feel free to stop by or shoot me a PM if you are ever heading this way. As for lowering it not right away. I just got out of my shopping cart, the nice soft suspension is good for a while. :D Especially on Fredericton roads.

Oh I would like to point out the different front and back license plates. That is a dealer mess up. But I like it, it's kinda funny.

Yeah they don't strike me as too bright there anyways. I was asking about the Mazdaspeed line of parts, so the salesman took me to the parts manager.
And he said I think you are confused Mazdaspeed is another car altogether. And I said NO, the aftermarket part company Mazdaspeed. They are advertised right on Mazda.ca. He looked confused so I just walked away.

you could most likely use the two different plate thing to your advantage if you ever get pulled over or something

That's what I was thinking. So guys, the 2.5l in mine is it a completely different engine then the previous 2.3l? Or is it just a bored out version of the same motor?
I ask because the intake looks exactly the same from pictures, so I am just wondering if the PRM SRI would fit on mine? I assume there must be something different.

Thanks Biped.
Regarding the license plate mix up. I went back today and got a temporary on it.
What happened was whomever prints up plates did 3 of 994 and 1 968. And I am supposed to be 968 and a 994 got packaged with it. They showed me the unopened 994s. So I couldn't play the blame game. But it's like the fools didn't believe me and all rushed outside to see for themselves.

been a while for this thread, but do anyone know where to find an intake for the 2010. Congrats on yours, but if you havent modded yet, then i have Enkei 17's and window visors :P
Mazda still don't have their intake out yet for the Mazdaspeed options....slackers

I doubt you will see a mazdaspeed one ever. Corksport is working on one and an exhaust, and they are sporting some good numbers.

thats pretty cool....I was talking to the sales tech at the mazda near me and they said this summer there should be an intake available for it. Whats the chances one from an 09 will fit the 2010?

Cold air = 0%
Short Ram = Good chance.
But you run into the problems with pipe diameter issues. I mean if a Mazdaspeed one came out for the car that would be nice, but I doubt they will as it seemed they discontinued them for the previous gen.

by pipe diameter do you mean the Speed3 has a larger throttle body diameter? I would buy a short ram designed for an 09 if i knew for sure that it would fit and not void warrenty. Are the 2 Mass Air Flow Meters the same between the 2 models?

Pipe Diameter - how big the inside of the pipe is. The 2.5 requires more air then the previous so its intake pipe is supposed to be bigger. Mind you someone put a PRM intake on their car from the previous version, and said they could feel a difference, but they also got a CEL.
No intake will ever void your warranty unless it proves to be the fault. A lot of guys just switch back to their stock when they have to take the car in to have it worked on.
I would say just wait until something specific comes out for the car. No reason rushing out and buying something that isn't for your car but will work.

thanks man. You just made up my mind for it. It is better to just wait thats specifically made for the 2010 3. I'll wait and hope they comeout with something than the expected $375 intake for it.

Well look at the bright side once a brand name one comes out, give it a while longer and then the generics will start coming out.
Depending upon the design of the corksport one, I may get that.
